Noise Directive generates background
In order to standardize the management of outdoor equipment that emits environmental noise in EU member states and to ensure the coordination and consistency of regulations on outdoor equipment that emits environmental noise, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Community issued the "Directive on the Coordination of Regulations on Outdoor Equipment that Emissions Environmental Noise in Member States" (2000/14/EC) on May 8, 2000.
On December 14, 2005, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union revised Directive 2000/14/EC on the harmonization of the laws of Member States relating to the emission of noise from outdoor equipment into the environment, and issued the latest Directive 2005/88/EC.
