Tractors, harvesters, or tractor units with trailers (replaceable equipment) driving on the road need to undergo e-mark certification for the entire vehicle.

Tractors only require e-mark certification, not CE certification. According to Article 2 (a) of the Tractor Directive 2003/37/EC, EC type approval refers to the approval document issued by the competent authorities of each member state of the European Union regarding tractors, their components or independent technical units that meet the relevant technical requirements of Directive 2003/37/EC.
